The Malaysian Armed Forces and the Defence Ministry are making arrangements to bring back the remains of army captain Hasman Hussin who died in the floods in Missouri, United States, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

He expressed his condolences to the family of Hasman and hoped that they would be strong in their moment of bereavement.

The army headquarters earlier today confirmed that Hasman, 33, was found dead at 11am on Dec 28 (1am on Dec 29 in Malaysia) after he was reported missing last Saturday in the floods in Pulaski Country, Missouri.

Hasman, who was attending a course at Fort Leonard Wood since Oct 1, was reported missing after the vehicle he was travelling in with four college mates was washed away by floodwaters in Missouri.

His college mates also died in the accident.
