The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) has set high sales targets of RM100 billion for the Mega Sales Programme (PJM) and RM513 million for the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign (KBBM).

Deputy Minister Datuk Rosol Wahid said the ministry was collaborating with 25 shopping malls around Kuala Lumpur to further intensify the two programmes.

"This collaboration is carried out to implement affordable sales or promotion initiatives in their respective premises through increased purchases of local goods.

"The programme is an extension of the launch of the Malaysia Sales Campaign 2020 and the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign at the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur on July 29," he said at a press conference after officiating the Mega Sales 2020 and Buy Malaysian Consumer Roadshow programme here yesterday.

He hoped with such a programme, the retail sector around Kuala Lumpur could be stimulated to increase the purchase of local goods.

In another development, Rosol said about 90 per cent of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) nationwide have recovered to how it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apart from that, he said entrepreneurs who wanted to make changes to products such as labelling, packaging and those having problems marketing to contact KPDNHEP.
