The state government will use drones to detect the cause of floods in several areas in Alor Gajah and Jasin recently.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said the effort would be made by several agencies or departments under the portfolios of the State Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee, Agriculture and Entrepreneur Development Committee, and Public Works and Public Utilities Committee.

"We suspect the possibility of certain areas having clogged or poorly maintained drains which had caused water to stagnate and could not flow to the rivers when it rained heavily."

"We are also perplexed as Sungai Tehel in Jasin had just undergone maintenance work and could have surely alleviated flood. So, a detailed study must be conducted fast to prevent it from recurring," he told a news conference after chairing a state executive council meeting, here, today.
