KUALA LUMPUR: The Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) Map portal recorded a total of 189,041 visitors since it was established on July 9, 2021, said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Chairman Dr Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek said out of the total visits until Sept 30, 2021, 162,862 users visited the network coverage page while total feedback submitted on various categories stood at 18,247.
JENDELA Map's main functions include facilitating users to check network coverage, submit feedback, and request new services from telco providers.
"Among the feedback received were about wireless broadband service, fixed broadband service, cellular service and free to air TV, and to date, we have closed 6,566 feedback out of the total received.
"We still need to reach out to as many people for them to provide the information for us to improve the quality of services, only then we will be able to really pinpoint where the problem is," he said at JENDELA's online-held fourth quarterly report media briefing today.
Meanwhile, Fadhlullah also said a total of 378,449 premises had been covered with fixed broadband as at Sept 30, 2021, representing an achievement of 211.4 per cent over the initial target of 179,013 premises for the quarter.
"For mobile broadband 4G towers, 67 new sites had been set up so far compared to the initial target of 65 sites, and 2,954 base stations were upgraded to 4G technology in this period," he added.
In total, Fadhlullah noted that 6.43 million premises nationwide have been passed for fixed broadband, with the average mobile broadband speed increasing to 31.34 megabits per second, and 94.03 per cent 4G coverage has been reached.
As for 3G network sunset, he said that between January and Sept 2021, a total of 1.17 million customers out of 2.10 million users have migrated from 3G networks, and 76,380 3G carriers have been switched off.
