Selangor Menteri Besar's political secretary Mustapha Mohd Talib has been immediately suspended from PKR for allegedly making threats against former Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam.
Mustapha allegedly threatened, in a telephone conversation with the special liaison officer for the Bukit Melawati state assembly (DUN) seat, to end Manikavasagam's services as the coordinator for that DUN seat.
PKR disciplinary body chairman, Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong said Mustapha has been served a show-cause letter and the suspension is in effect until the investigations are complete.
Meanwhile, Manikavasagam is also immediately suspended from PKR for alleging that the MB, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, was involved in money politics in the Kuala Selangor PKR division and allowing this to be known to the media.
Tan said Manikavasagam's statements against Abdul Khalid was aired by TV1 and TV3's Buletin Utama on May 11, and in Utusan Malaysia the next day.
"This goes against Article B7 of the Election Code of Ethics which states 'Any dispute relating to the party election is prohibited from being brought to the media or to the public'," Tan said in a statement today.
In the election this time around, Manikavasagam challenged Abdul Khalid for the position of the Kuala Selangor division chief.
Tan said, the cases involving Mustapha and Manikavasagam have been tabled and was decided in the PKR political bureau on Wednesday.
Aside from Mustapha and Manikavasagam, several other party members were also suspended for allegedly going against election rules.
Among them are Md Yusop Kamaruddin from Pasir Salak division who was suspended over his statements criticising the party's Election Committee on Facebook.
