Marine police seize diesel, petrol being smuggled out of Semporna

Semporna Marine Police have seized a quantity of petrol and diesel as the fuel was being smuggled out of the country.

Sabah Marine Police commander ACP Mohammad Madun said the 1,920 litres of petrol and 2,700 litres of diesel were seized from four pump boats in Semporna waters under 'Operasi Landai' on Oct 8.

"We also arrested a 45-year-old foreign man," he said in a statement today.

He said the skippers of the three other boats jumped into the sea upon seeing the police.

The seized fuel and boats were valued at RM25,558, he added.
