Man detained for alleged extortion using sex video

Police have detained a man identified as 'Alia' who was believed to have threatened to spread a video of his sex act with a driver in Loke Yew here, on Thursday (April 6).

Ampang Jaya District Police chief ACP Hamzah Alias said the 24-year-old driver had refused to give the suspect the RM1000 he demanded after they had sex.

"The 28-year-old suspect has been detained and is investigating the case," he said in a statement.

Both the men met on Wednesday (April 5) at San Peng Flats in Jalan Pudu before agreeing to engage in sex.

According to Hamzah, the victim demanded the money on the same day.

The suspect was remanded for four days from yesterday to help in the investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
