Datuk Seri Najib Razak said this is the reason they are unable to secure higher paying jobs to meet the demands of current cost of living.
One of the reasons Malaysians are struggling with the high cost of living today is because of their low education level and lack of skills.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said this is the reason they are unable to secure higher paying jobs to meet the demands of current cost of living.
“With only SPM, no diploma, degree or certain skills, we cannot secure a job that would pay well,” he told Dewan Rakyat today.
“We need to increase the number of Malaysians with additional qualifications,” he said replying to a supplementary question from (Bagan Serai-BN) Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.
Najib said the current 11 years of formal schooling is no longer sufficient for one to lead a comfortable life or to improve their current economic status.
The Pekan MP also called on all to instil in the people the importance of upgrading themselves through more skills and qualifications.
On another matter, Najib said the Federal government had allocated RM400 million to Kelantan last year, making it among those with highest allocation.
He said he hoped the allocation had been properly used for the development of the state and people.
