Malaysia condemns bomb attacks in Baghdad

The government of Malaysia condemns in the strongest terms the bomb attacks that took place in Karrada district, Baghdad on 3 July 2016, which killed 213 people and left 177 others injured.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement today said Malaysia expresses its deepest condolences to the government and people of the Republic of Iraq and to the families and victims affected by the attacks.
“Malaysia regards this latest terrorist act as inhumane and hopes the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
“The Ministry wishes to remind Malaysian citizens travelling to Iraq to always give utmost priority to their personal safety and the security of their surroundings, and to closely monitor and comply with any advisory issued by the Government of the Republic of Iraq,” said the statement.
The ministry through the Embassy of Malaysia in Amman, Jordan will continue to monitor the situation, it added.
