Three Indonesian plantation workers were killed while three others were seriously injured after their lorry, which was carrying 10 workers, skidded and plunged into a ditch along Jalan Ladang Timur Oil Palm
near Maran yesterday.
Pahang Public Order and Traffic chief Supt Mohamed Fauzi Abdul Rahim said all the victims were Indonesians and identified the dead as Mansur, 31, Badrul, 39, and Nasrudin, 39.
He said the injured, identified as Zanwadi, 26, Ahyar, 26 and Rosedi Suhaidi, 28, were receiving treatment at the Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh.
"In the 5.40pm incident, the lorry was ferrying them back to their workers quarters when it experienced a brake malfunction while descending a slope, causing the lorry to skid and go out of control," he told reporters here today.
He added that the driver and the rest of the passengers were unhurt.
