The publisher of a local Malay newspaper today launched the #JanganPutusAsaMalaysia campaign to create a positive attitude among Malaysians amid uncertainties due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Karangkraf Media Group managing director Datuk Dr Hussamuddin Yaacub in a Facebook post invited Malaysians to use the hashtag on all social media platforms.
He also encouraged everyone to post positive words and inspirational stories, besides sharing pictures and beautiful moments with friends and family.
"We will begin a 'new normal', a new habit of inspiring and giving encouragement to one another," he said, adding that Malaysians need to restore confidence and positivity in order to revive the country.
Hussamuddin also called on the federal and state governments, as well as all institutions, corporate bodies and families in the country to come together in a spirit of mutual support.

"First and foremost, we must be determined not to give up on Allah's mercy," said Hussamuddin.
He said fear and anxiety would only make us weaker, and head into a downward spiral.
"We need to accept the fact that this bad thing is happening. It's scary and it's happening. Believing in God's promise in the beautiful Surah Yusuf (chapter)12:(verse)87, we should never despair," he said.
