The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Customs, seized 66.75 kg of methamphetamine worth RM12.6 million on Monday.

KLIA customs director Datuk Chik Omar Chik Lim said the drugs flown in from Lagos, Nigeria using a cargo service was the biggest seizure in the history of KLIA Customs.

“Working on an intelligence report, our men traced two boxes which had arrived at the MAS Cargo KLIA godown at 5pm.

“The consignment had been declared as hair attachments but when checked, it was methamphetamine wrapped in 67 black plastic bags,” he said in an article by the Star Online.

Based on the airway bill, Chik Omar said that the consignment was addressed to a non-existent company in Klang.

This week alone, the amount of confiscation of methamphetamines confiscated amounted close to RM20 million.

meanwhile, in another similar case, Kelantan police on Tuesday seized methamphetamine pills and heroin valued at RM5.7 million in Rantau Panjang.

The ‘Op Cantas’ raid conducted on a house in the village, was the biggest haul this year, according to State police chief Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman.

They managed to detained a 40-year-old Thai woman and her four children, whereas the main suspect, the woman’s husband, had fled before the raid took place and is believed to be in Thailand.
