The 20-year dream of three elderly siblings to own a more comfortable house was finally fulfilled by the initiative of a non-governmental organisation which is aptly named Kindness Malaysia.

The National News Agency of Malaysia (Bernama) had in October highlighted the desire of Mohamed Kassim, 78, his sister Zainab, 69, and brother Zulkifli, 61, to own a comfortable house.

The trio who are not married, vowed to live together although their lives were full of hardship with two of them suffering from various chronic diseases.

Speaking to Bernama today, the siblings who have been living in a dilapidated house in Kampung Jalan Lumpur, here, for the past 20 years expressed their gratitude to Kindness Malaysia for fulfilling their dreams.

"I am glad that finally we can live in a comfortable house. During rainy days, all items in our decrepit house will be wet as the roof was leaking.

"The dust from the nearby bridge which is full of vehicles is always entering our decrepit house. In the new house the three of us will never face the dust problem anymore," Mohamed said.

Zulkifli said they received news about the new house which is located in Mergong, here from the village head two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Kindness Malaysia deputy chairman Mohd Azrul Mohd Razak said the organisation would fully pay the deposit of RM600 to enable Zulkifli to get the keys of the new house.

"Kindness Malaysia will also help the trio to pay the monthly installment amounting to RM200, assist them to move out as well as clean the house," he said, adding that the siblings were expected to move to the new house next week.
