Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Yaakob will direct the Chief Government Security Officer (CGSO) to investigate the incident where Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad was assaulted on Parliament compound, here today.
He said the ministry will obtain a report from CGSO following the incident today where a group of men who claimed to be with Pasir Salak UMNO division had assaulted Khalid.
They are believed to have done so following Khalid's refusal to retract and apologise over his 'menteri sial' remark in Dewan Rakyat on Monday.
"How did an officer get hurt? What is important is that these officers must give a report on how this had happened and who were the ones involved," he told reporters at Parliament lobby today.
"We want to know who is responsible for the incident as a visitor can enter the premises upon an invitation by any MPs. They can't simply enter," he added.
"If the police are involved, we will get them to investigate," he said.
