Former national chief scout commissioner Prof Datuk Seri Dr Kamarudin Kachar, died while undergoing treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 8.40 last night.

Kamarudin,83, is also former vice-chancellor of Universiti Industri Selangor (Unisel).

His son, Khairul Annuar,55, said Kamarudin was admitted to IJN for treatment two weeks ago.

"My father had been in stable condition. He slipped into a coma tonight," he said when met by Bernama at IJN, here tonight.

Kamarudin's remain was taken to Sungai Ramal, Kajang last night before burial at Sungai Ramal Muslim cemetery Wednesday morning.

He leaves a wife, Datin Seri Che Tom Osman,80, and four children. - BERNAMA
