MARANG: An Al-Quran and Fardu Ain class (KAFA) teacher pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court here today to a charge of causing hurt to a nine-year-old male student.
Ahmad Mursyidin Abdullah, 37, made the plea before Magistrate Engku Nurul Ain Engku Muda.
He was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to the student by lifting and slamming him on a wooden chair, causing the boy to fracture his right leg,
The offence was allegedly committed at a primary school here at 4.15 pm last July 6.
The teacher was allowed bail of RM4,000 with one surety and the court set Nov 17 for mention.
He was also ordered to not intimidate the victim and witnesses in the case.
Deputy public prosecutor Nik Rabiatul Adawiyah Nik Soupy prosecuted, while Ahmad Mursyidin was represented by lawyer Abdul Hayyi Salim.
