Johor Sultan drives train to Segamat

The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar today took time to drive a specially rented six-coach train from the JB Sentral station to Segamat.
This is the ninth time that the Johor Sultan is driving a train, with the last trip from Segamat station to JB Sentral on July 28, 2013.
The Sultan was accompanied by two locomotive drivers of Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) namely Mohd Kamal Asmawi and Supawi Ismail.
The duo have 10 to 20 years experience driving KTMB trains.
Earlier, Johor Mufti Datuk Mohd Tahrir Samsudin recited the doa (prayer) before the Sultan started his journey at 9.45am.
The train is expected to reach the KTMB station in Segamat at 2.45pm. The distance is 180 kilometres.
The journey will pass through eight KTMB stations. Sultan Ibrahim obtained a Class 26 locomotive driving licence on June 28, 2010.
