JBPM to conduct patrols in accident hotspots in Kelantan

KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has identified several accident hostpots in the state for this upcoming festive season.
Its director, Jainal@Zainal Madasin said as a precautionary measure, frequent patrols would be conducted along the routes ahead of the Chinese New Year which falls on Feb 1.
"Among the identified routes are the East-West Highway in the Jeli district, the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai-Kota Bharu main road in Gua Musang and Kuala Krai the Pasir Puteh-Kuala Terengganu main road in Pasir Puteh.
"The frequent patrols will enable us to act swiftly in the event of an emergency or accident," he told a press conference at the Kelantan JBPM headquarters, here, today.
He also said that leave for 750 fire and rescue personnel in Kelantan has been frozen to ensure a smooth celebration during the festive season.
Jainal advised road users to be careful especially when passing through routes that had been identified as hot spots in the state during the festive season and to keep themselves updated with the latest traffic information.
Meanwhile, he said the Kelantan JBPM would organise several programmes to enhance public awareness on safety aspects and fire prevention.
