Jail, whipping for security guards who absconded with RM1.8 million

Two security guards who absconded with more than RM1.8 million of their company's sales earnings were sentenced to eight years' imprisonment, and meted out seven strokes of the cane, today.
Kassim Taysing, 34, and Adrin Jalil, 36, who were employees of Syarikat Safeguard G4S Sdn Bhd, were charged and pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court here yesterday, to criminal breach of trust (CBT).
They admitted committing the offence with two others still at large, at the roadside at Putra Permai 1A, Seri Kembangan at 9.42 pm on Oct 27.
Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh ordered the sentences to run from the date of their arrest on Oct 27.
Deputy public prosecutor Tan Gin Han appeared for the prosecution, while the duo were unrepresented.
