Barisan Nasional's Khairy Jamaluddin failed to flip the Sungai Buloh seat from PH in a fierce seven-cornered fight - Twitter Khairy Jamaluddin
KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional’s Khairy Jamaluddin conceded defeat in the seven-cornered contest for the Sungai Buloh constituency in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Pakatan Harapan (PH) maintained its victory when its candidate, Datuk R. Ramanan won the seat with a majority of 2,693 votes. Ramanan polled 50,943 votes while Khairy garnered 48,250 votes.
The former health minister took to social media to express his gratitude to voters.
“Thank you to P107 Sungai Buloh voters. I have tried my best. Congratulations to Datuk Ramanan. Selamat berkhidmat
“Thank you to the Malaysian people. It was one of the greatest privileges of my life to have served as your Health Minister during the pandemic.
In GE14, the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary seat was held by R. Sivarasa from PKR with a majority of 26,634.
