A group of early morning express bus users on the Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur route today appealed to the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) to allow the service to be retained at the Gunung Rapat bus stand, here.
They claimed they would face great difficulty to commute from Ipoh to work in Kuala Lumpur every morning if the service was moved to the Amanjaya Bus Terminal in Meru.
Civil servant Amran Mohd Majid, 49, said everyday at 4.30am, almost 20 passengers used the only service provided by a bus company to Kuala Lumpur which took and dropped off passengers at the main road in Gunung Rapat.
"We appeal to SPAD to allow us to continue to use the existing bus stand in Gunung Rapat to board the bus to Kuala Lumpur early every morning and for the bus to drop us on the opposite side on the return trip.
"We do not ask for much," he said when met at the SPAD customer service counter at the Urban Transformation Centre, here.
Earlier, Amran, who represented the group, tried to lodge a complaint and to make an appeal over their predicament.
However, he failed to do so as the counter provides minimal service and he was asked by a staff to lodge a report with the Terminal Enforcement Division at the SPAD headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
