Kelantan Federal Development Department (JPP) will give more focus on the younger generation in conjunction with this year’s 57th Independence day.

JPP director, Datuk Makhtar Mustapha said this is to instill national identity among young people.

“We have a few programmes planned for this year’s Independence day. The programmes is expected to be carried out for three days starting on the August 29,” he told reporters.

Makhtar was attending an Aidilfitri event by the Association of Women Civil Servants (Puspanita) of Kelantan Federal Development Department and the Kelantan Media Club (Kemudi), on Saturday.

The event was attended by 1,500 people and inaugurated by the Director General Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s department Tan Sri Shukry Mohd Salleh.

Makhtar said that more than 100 non-government organizations (NGOs) will be attending the Independence day celeberations in Kelantan.

He encourages all state citizens and building owners to fly the Jalur Gemilang to encourage love for the country.
