IKBN students conduct free haircuts for flood victims

Forty students from the National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN), Terengganu, conducted free haircut services on Sunday for residents of Kampung Bertam Baru, here, who were affected by the recent floods.
Its director, Hasnata Hassan, said the services being held for the first time in conjunction with the Ministry of Communication and Multimedia's Caring Hands Programme with flood victims that was launched by its Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Friday.
"Our purpose is to bring students down to the ground so that they can gain experience via the programme," he told Bernama when met at the Bertam Baru Public Hall here.
In addition, he said the students also held a free of charge vehicle servicing programme, including cars and motorcycles, as many vehicles were submerged in the recent flood waters.
"Students skilled in electrical work also went from house to house of flood victims repairing various electrical appliances and also faulty wiring," he added.
