High patriotic spirit important for preserving unity - PM

A high patriotic spirit is very important to ensure splits among the people does not happen, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Citing Prophet Muhammad's love for Makkah which was shared in the sermon during Friday prayers today, Najib said this attribute of the Prophet (love for his country) had a deep impact on him.

"This patriotic spirit should be emulated by us. We must follow the Prophet's example to defend Malaysia's sovereignty," he said in his Twitter today.
