KUALA TERENGGANU: The Road Transport Department (RTD) has received a total of 245 complaints through the e-Aduan@JPJ application since implementation of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Road Safety Campaign and Integrated Operation last April 29.
Its Deputy Director General (Planning and Operations), Aedy Fadly Ramli said most of the complaints were for over-taking and driving on emergency lanes.
He said the e-Aduan@JPJ application was launched a week before Aidilfitri, but received good response from motorists nationwide.
"Some of the complaints have been acted upon within 48 to 72 hours and JPJ would like to thank Malaysians for willing to help us to enforce traffic laws by reporting incidents by sending videos and photos through the e-Aduan@JPJ system," he said when met on the last day of the operation here last night.
Also present was Terengganu JPJ director Zulkarnain Yasin.
The e-aduan application can be downloaded via Google Play for Android smartphone users and the public will also need to activate the global positioning system (GPS) to facilitate location tracking.
Meanwhile, Aedy Fadly said a total of 89,490 vehicles were inspected nationwide during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Road Safety Campaign and Integrated Operation.
A total of 18,690 notices were issued to errant motorists for various offences, mostly for driving without a valid driving licence and with expired road tax, he said.
