The Government through the Ministry of Human Resources will hold discussions on the proposal to provide identity cards to foreigners who have undergone COVID-19 screening.
However, Security Cluster Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, at present, the foreigners could still show a screening confirmation letter issued by the hospital.
"So far no identity taq has been given to them. However, they (foreigners) have a letter. If we (authorities) ask, they can show the letter.
"To see them as negative COVID-19 from the ID they are using, so far they do not have that.
"I wish to have a discussion with the Human Resources Ministry as it might ask employers to provide such tags for us to know that they have undergone COVID-19 screening," he told a press conference here today.
For the ones whos tested positive, he said, there was no question that they would be placed in the ward for treatment, while the negative ones would likely need to undergo quarantine if exposed to close contacts.
