The federal government has allocated RM3 million to assist 6,571 flood victims of the first waves that ocurred in late December last year in Kelantan.

Kelantan Civil Defence Force director Zainuddin Hussin said the affected victims were from seven districts of Bachok, Pasir Puteh, Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Machang, Pasir Mas and Jeli.
"So far over RM1 million has been distributed as financial aid to 2,171 families in Bachok, Pasir Puteh, Kota Baharu, Tumpat and Machang," he told reporters after presenting the aid for Machang district here today.
The financial aid was handed over by Machang UMNO division deputy chief Wan Adnan Wan Abduk Aziz.
Some 400 families affected by the flood in Machang received RM500 cash for each family.
Zainuddin said affected victims in Pasir Mas and Jeli, would receive their aid in May or June.
Asked on the financial aid for flood victims of the second waves that took place in mid January in the state, he said it would be determined by the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
