Four in family killed in accident at Jalan Sungai Koyan-Cameron Highlands

Four family members were killed when the Perodua Alza car they travelling in skidded and collided with a van at KM13, Jalan Sungai Koyan-Cameron Highlands near Pos Betau here Saturday.

Kuala Lipis district police chief Supt Abdul Razak Hassan said in the 2.15pm incident, Norulaini Ab Ghani, 43, her husband Raja Mohd Adnan Raja Husain, 45, and their two daughters Raja Nur A'iysah, 14, Raja Nur Anis Batrisya, 8 died at the spot.

The couple's other child Raja Nur Alyaa Masturina, 13, and the driver of the van Wendi Hasby, 26, suffered severe injuries.

"The crash was believed to have occurred when Norulaini lost control of the car while descending a downhill stretch and skidded into the opposite lane before colliding with the van," he told reporters last night.

Abdul Razak said the injured victims were sent to the Kuala Lipis Hospital.

The family was heading to their house in Felda Jengka 6, Maran after a holiday in Cameron Highlands when the mishap occurred.
