Former Selangor MB Khir Toyo released on parole

The former Sungai Panjang assemblyman was charged with committing the offence at the MB official residence in Section 7, Shah Alam on May 29, 2007.
Former Selangor Menteri Besar, Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo was released on parole today after serving six months of a 12-month sentence at Kajang Prison in Selangor.
The former Selangor MB application was approved by the parole board members after they had a meeting today.
Through the parole system, Mohamad Khir is released earlier by the government and allowed to carry out his daily activities under the watch of parole officers.
Mohamad Khir was charged with purchasing himself two plots of land and a bungalow, worth RM3.5 million in Shah Alam on Dec 23, 2004.
He was given a 12-month sentence by judge Datuk Wira Mohtarudin Baki at the Shah Alam High Court.
The Federal Court upheld his conviction for corruption on Sept 29, last year.
