Floods: 'Visit Beautiful Terengganu 2017' target will not be affected - MB

The target set for "Visit Beautiful Terengganu 2017' will not be affected even though the state has been hit by floods since Saturday, said Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman.

Speaking to reporters after visiting flood hit areas here Thursday, he said lower tourist arrivals in January was the norm because the tourism season in Terengganu usually started picking up from March.

Terengganu has set a target of 5.5 million tourist arrivals for 2017, mainly from China and Vietnam, apart from locals.

In PITAS, Sabah, State Secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman said he was satisfied with the relief operations carried out in the flood hit district.

Sukarti, who is also State Disaster Management Committee chairman, was all praise for the district's Disaster Management Committee chairman Bubudan O.T. Majalu, who is also the District Officer, for a job well done concerning the relief operations.
