Fifty-eight people from nine families in Felda Kota Gelanggi 1, near Jerantut, were evacuated last night following a flash flood.

Jerantut district officer Tengku Nor Asmaliza Ku Lah said the residents were evacuated to the Semai Bakti Community Hall at about 11.30 pm.

However, the flood water began receding at 4.30 am today and the evacuees were allowed to return home.

"Only four families are still at the relief centre," she said when contacted by Bernama, adding that food aid was distributed by the Social Welfare Department to those affected by the floods.
