Firemen to the rescue as stop cork gets stuck in student's stomach

MELAKA: A 14-year-old boy faced an anxious moment when a stop cork on a pipe got stuck in his stomach in an incident at Madrasah Hj Ghani, Kampung Serkam Timur in Merlimau, Jasin tonight.
Jasin Fire and Rescue Station chief Assistant Fire Officer Mohd Faisal Fuad when contacted here last night said they received a call at 8.42 pm, and seven personnel arrived at the scene two minutes later.
"When we arrived at the scene, we found that a stop cork on a pipe had gotten stuck inside the abdomen of a tahfiz student.
"The fire brigade took about five minutes to cut the iron pipe connected to the stop cork using a hydraulic cutter," he said, adding that the victim was then taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
