BENTONG: A fire reportedly broke out at the Genting SkyWorld's outdoor theme park in Genting Highlands at around 4:55 PM today.

In a statement, the Pahang Fire and Rescue Operations Centre reported that the fire began in a second-floor building at the theme park before spreading to the fourth floor.

"Teams from Bentong and Selangor fire stations have been deployed to the incident site," said a spokesperson when contacted by Astro Awani.

According to the statement, four members from Genting Highlands Fire and Rescue Department were deployed to the scene of the incident and were assisted by 16 members each from Bentong and Janda Baik stations.

Several social media users, believed to be visitors to the resort, shared footages of the incident.

It is understood that visitors and staff from nearby buildings have also been instructed to evacuate the premises.

So far, no casualties have been reported and the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
