KUALA TERENGGANU:An officer at the Fire and Rescue Academy pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today to two counts of making false claims amounting to RM16,344.

Muhammad Rasydan Ismail, 36, was alleged to have handed over to an accounting officer, Wan Noor Kasmaliza Awang, an invoice by Pak Su Global Enterprise, for RM6,480 for the supply of food and drinks for a programme purportedly held from May 6 to 8, 2018, but no such supply of food and drinks was made.

He was also charged with committing a similar offence, involving an invoice from the same company, amounting to RM9,864,  to provide food and drinks for participants in a flood operations management workshop, purportedly held on Dec 3 to 5, 2017, but there was no such supply of food and drinks.

The court set Feb 2 for mention.

Prosecuting officer from MACC Mohd Aliff Shaharuzaman prosecuted, while Muhammad Rasydan was represented by lawyer Nur Shahida Shaifuddin.
