Evacuate before flood situation worsens, Tengku Abdullah advises residents

Tengku Mahkota Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has advised residents in flood-prone areas to immediately evacuate to the relief centres when the situation warrants it.
He said the residents' cooperation was important to facilitate their evacuation by the agencies involved before the flood situation worsened.
Tengku Abdullah was speaking to reporters after visiting 545 flood victims from 149 families in the relief centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pandan, here, last night.
He also advised flood evacuees to be patient and accept the efforts made by the state government in taking care of their needs as best as possible.
The flood situation in Pahang has reportedly worsened with the number of evacuees increasing to 2,386, and among the worse affected districts are Kuantan, Pekan, Maran, Jerantut and Lipis.
Kuantan district has the highest number of flood evacuees at 1,421 from 357 families housed at 19 relief centres.
