KUALA LUMPUR: Seven localities in Sabah and four more in Pahang will come under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from June 8 to June 21, following an increase in COVID-19 infections in the areas.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the localities in Sabah were Kampung Ongkilan in Kota Marudu and Kampung Pulutan and Kampung Murni C in Nabawan.
Also affected are Kampung Bolong Baru, Tuaran; Kampung Tamalang and Kampung Tuguson in Kota Belud and Kampung Bergosong, Pulau Sebatik, Tawau.
The EMCO in Pahang will involve Kampung Jaya Gading and parts of Kampung Seri Damai and Bandar Baru Jaya Gading, as well as the Gebeng Industrial area in Kuantan, he said in a statement on the Movement Control Order (MCO) today.
He said the EMCO was being enforced in these areas to facilitate Health Ministry (MOH) personnel to carry out targeted COVID-19 screening and to prevent the virus from spreading.
Meanwhile, he said the EMCO in Kuantan will involve seven sub-districts namely Beserah, Kuala Kuantan 1, Kuala Kuantan 2, Penor, Sungai Karang, Ulu Kuantan and Ulu Lepar; while the EMCO in Taman Abaka, Ladang Table, Tawau, will end as scheduled today.
