EMCO in five areas extended beginning tomorrow - Ismail Sabri

Ismail Sabri said the extension for the affected areas in Lahad Datu is from tomorrow until Nov 23 while that for Plaza Hentian Kajang, Putra Point Nilai, Negeri Sembilan and Kampung Haji Baki, Kuching is from tomorrow until Nov 24.
KUALA LUMPUR: The government has decided to extend the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in five areas to monitor and curb the spread of COVID-19 in the local commmunity.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the five areas affected by the EMCO extension are:
  • Mutiara Kasih Flats and Taman Khazanah Indah, Lahad Datu, Sabah
  • Kg Sabah Baru, Lahad Datu, Sabah
  • Plaza Hentian Kajang, Hulu Langat District, Selangor
  • Putra Point Nilai, Negeri Sembilan
  • Kampung Haji Baki, Kuching
  • Ismail Sabri said the extension for the affected areas in Lahad Datu is from tomorrow until Nov 23 while that for Plaza Hentian Kajang, Putra Point Nilai, Negeri Sembilan and Kampung Haji Baki, Kuching is from tomorrow until Nov 24.
    The EMCO was extended because the Health Ministry (MOH), among others, was continuing with targeted screenings and there had also been an increase in COVID-19 positive cases, he told a press conference here today on the Recovery Movement Control Order updates.
    Ismail Sabri also announced the end of the EMCO at Felda Umas, Kalabakan, Sabah, and Sungai Emas Flats, Jalan Emas 31 and Jalan Emas 32 in Kuala Langat District, Selangor.
    He said the EMCO was lifted because no new COVID-19 cases were reported and positive cases were dropping and under control.
