Police have confirmed that the body of a man found beside the North-South Expressway (north-bound) near Kampung Padang Satu last Sunday was that of a 52-year-old Singaporean.

Kedah CID chief ACP Mohd Nashir Ya said a post-mortem showed that the man had died of multiple slash wounds.

"The case is being investigated for murder and so far no arrests have been made," he said in a WhatsApp message today.

Police received a call from a member of the public at 9.30 am last Sunday on the discovery of a body with slash wounds on the forehead, head and hands.

Police also recovered a mobile phone and a bunch of keys at the scene but no identification documents were found.
