Police have detained a Bangladeshi man to facilitate investigation into the discovery of a baby's body in a ravine near Genting Highlands last Wednesday.
Shah Alam deputy police Supt Ruslan Abdullah said the man was detained in Klang yesterday following a report by an Indonesian maid that she was allegedly raped by him and bore his child.
"The Bangladeshi man aged in the 30s is remanded for 14 days starting today for further investigation of the case," he added.
Newspapers had reported that an agent supplying foreign workers and his wife were detained to aid investigation into a police report by a 33 year-old woman who lost her baby at the end of last month.
The agent's detention led to the discovery of the decomposed body of a six-month-old baby boy in a ravine near Genting Highlands at 11am.
"The baby's cause of death could not be determined due to the condition of the body which was decomposed," he added.
Police also rescued 24 Indonesian women aged between 20 and 30 years-old, working illegal as housemaids for the same agent, and were allegedly sexually exploited by the agent and his customers.
