The state government will cooperate with non-government organisations (NGO) and those involved in the development and welfare of women to coordinate data of single mothers in the state.

State Women and family Development, Communication and Multimedia Committee chairman Datuk Shahaniza Shamsuddin said the data had been compiled by the Department of Women's Development, via online, but the number who registered comprising about 200 women, was too small.

"Prior to this, the data on single mothers in the state had been gathered by many parties including state Wanita Umno, the village development and security committee and data from the Department of Women's Development but are not coordinated.

"With complete and coordinated data we hope no single mothers will be left out from getting aid from numerous quarters especially from the federal and state government," she said.

She said this to reporters after meeting state representatives of Women and Family Development Council here today.
