DAP sacks eight more members for supporting elected rep who reneged

Eight DAP members who were present at the Buntong State Assemblyman A. Sivasubramaniam's press conference who announced leaving DAP to join Gerakan on June 26 were fired immediately from the party.
DAP Disciplinary Committee chairman Chong Chieng Jen said the eight members, namely, Dan Adriel Daniel Velloo, Angeline Phillip Joe Phillip, P. Murugiah, Joseph Hendry Kovil Pillai John, Amir Abdullah, R. Marimutu, S. Theivanai and William John Johin Bin had previously been given a show cause letter, but they failed to submit a reason for their actions.
"After considering the cases, the Disciplinary Committee decided to terminate their memberships in the party immediately. The Disciplinary Committee reiterates that the committee would not hesitate to take stern action against any member who betrayed the party's struggle.
"... or with any member who has accepted a position with the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government or who are still assisting elected representatives who have betrayed the party's struggle," he said in a statement today.
On July 7, the Disciplinary Committee also sacked three DAP members, namely, Kong Lai Ling, Ng Sook Whye and Khi Poh Chong who were found to be actively assisting Tronoh State Assemblyman Paul Yong Choo Kiong who was sacked after announcing his resignation and giving support to PN.
