KUALA LUMPUR: There were 6,437 new COVID-19 cases reported in the country today, bringing the cumulative total to 745,703 cases said Health director-general, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
In a tweet, he said Selangor has the highest daily cases with 2,299 cases followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,361); Negeri Sembilan (700); Kedah (284); Johor (271); Melaka (252); Pahang (250); Sarawak (242).
Apart from that, Perak recorded 184 cases followed Sabah (178); Kelantan (131); Labuan (117); Penang (115); Putrajaya (32); Terengganu (21); while no new cases were reported in Perlis.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Dr Noor Hisham said of the new cases reported today, 6,423 involved local transmissions while 14 more were import cases.
There were also 5,298 recoveries overnight while 905 patients were being treated in the intensive care unit.
Also, 107 deaths were reported today, involving 43 cases in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan (16); Kuala Lumpur (11); seven each in Kedah and Melaka; Johor (6); four each in Sabah, Kelantan and Labuan; Terengganu (1) and two cases respectively in Sarawak and Pahang.
He said 27 new clusters were also identified, involving 13 in the community,12 workplace clusters, one involving high-risk groups and one more involving a private educational institution registered under the Ministry of Education (MOE).
