COVID-19: No death cases, 100 cases recovered, 38 new cases

NOOR HISHAM: The cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia remains 98 cases or 1.70 per cent of the the total number of cases.
Malaysia continues to record positive development with no death cases involving COVID-19 reported today.
Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the number of deaths due to the virus has remained at 98.
“Therefore, the cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia remains 98 cases or 1.70 per cent of the the total number of cases," he said at a daily press conference here on Sunday.
At the same time, another 100 cases of COVID-19 have recovered and allowed to be discharged today, bringing the total cumulative number of cases of recovery to 3,862 (66.8 per cent of total cases).
"As such, the number of cases discharged today is more than double the number of new cases reported," he added.
Meanwhile, 38 new cases have been reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Malaysia to 5,780 cases.
"Therefore, the total number of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity is 1,820 cases. They have been isolated and treated.
"To date, 36 positive cases of COVID-19 are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Of these, 15 cases require respiratory assistance," Dr Noor Hisham said.
