COVID-19: 1,472 new infections, 1,552 recovered, 3 deaths

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 1,472 new COVID-19 cases were recorded within 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases in Malaysia currently to 67,169 cases.
According to the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, out of the total, there were five import cases.
"There are currently 10,495 cases of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
The spread of COVID-19 by state showed Selangor as the highest state with an increase of 891 cases, followed by Sabah (267 cases) and Negeri Sembilan (146 cases).
According to Dr Noor Hisham, three new deaths were reported in Sabah, bringing the total number of deaths to 363.
Meanwhile, a total of 120 cases are receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 44 cases requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the number of patients recovered continued to record an increase with 1,552 cases, bringing the cumulative number of cases recovered to 56,311 cases.
