COVID-19: 1,315 new cases, 4 deaths, 1,110 patients recovered

Malaysia recorded a total of 1,315 new COVID-19 infections within 24 hours.

Of these, 1,310 are domestic transmission while the other five are import cases.

The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) in a media statement said the number of new recovery cases were 1,110 with a cumulative total of 51,314.

MOH also recorded four deaths in the same period apart from 118 patients were being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 43 of them needing of respiratory assistance.

Sabah today still reported the highest daily cases with 476 (36.2 per cent), of which 406 cases (85.3 per cent) detected in the state were the result of cluster screening and close contact of COVID-19 positive cases which was actively carried out in the field.

"This is followed by Selangor with 266 cases (20.2 per cent) and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur with 191 cases (14.5 per cent).

"A total of 112 cases (8.5 per cent) reported are related to clusters in the detention centres.

“Meanwhile, temporary detention centres and prisons involved PTS Sibuga Cluster (99 cases), Tembok Cluster (8 cases), Remand Prison Cluster (2 cases), Rumah Merah Cluster (2 cases) and Kepayan Prison Cluster (1 case)," the statement added.

The statement said a total of six new clusters were reported with a total of 355 clusters until 28 November.

The total number of clusters that have ended were 175 clusters, including two clusters, namely the Menara Cluster and the Simera Cluster.

"This brings the total number of active clusters monitored to 180. Of that number, a total of 44 clusters reported an increase in cases.

“The clusters that reported the highest increase in new cases today are the Enggor Cluster (126 cases), the Teratai Cluster (90 cases) and the Bintang Cluster (71 cases).

"The new clusters are, PTS Sibuga Cluster, Jesselton Construction Site Cluster, Dermaga Cluster, Tempasuk Cluster, UD SS2 Cluster and Awan Baru Construction Site Cluster," the statement explained.
