COVID-19: 1,212 new cases, 3 deaths recorded

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,212 new COVID-19 infections within 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases to 65,697.
Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of that, nine were import cases of infection from abroad while 1,203 cases were contagious in the country.
He said the total number of active cases with COVID-19 infectivity was 10,578 cases.
"The number of cases recovered today is 2,112 cases. This brings the cumulative number of cases of recovery from COVID19 to 54,759 cases (83.4 per cent of the total cases).
"To date, there are 113 positive cases being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), of which 42 cases require respiratory assistance," he said in a press conference here on Monday.
In the meantime, Dr Noor Hisham said a total of three deaths were recorded, bringing the cumulative number of deaths to 360.
