Corruption the root cause of rising home costs

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today said that it is investigating property developers allegedly linked to embezzlement and corruption.
MACC chief commissioner, Datuk Dzulkifle Ahmad revealed that there have been reports alleging some developers involved in corruption during the initial stage has hugely impacted the society.
“Corruption has contributed to the 20 per cent rise of homes,” said Dzulkifli, during a meeting with chief editors at the Anti-Corruption Media Caucus at the MACC headquarters here today.
He added, MACC will take stern action against the misconduct as the people will have to face the consequences.
“Everybody seemed to be discussing this issue but no developers have lodged any reports to MACC, we need to probe,” said Dzulkifli.
