The special address on the Short-term Economic Recovery Plan (ERP) by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today saw the Prime Minister stressing the importance for the people in the country to practise social distancing.

He described the guidelines as the last 'fortress' in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Muhyiddin also expressed his gratitude that the practice of social distancing had succeeded in preventing him from being infected with the virus and being negatively diagnosed with COVID-19.

"This shows how important it is for us to practise social distancing to prevent being infected by the virus. So, my advice is to practise social distancing wherever you are.

"It may be a last protection or fortress for all of us from being infected," he said in his special address here today.

He said the instruction for social distancing was applied at each of his meetings.

Muhyiddin had been ordered to undergo quarantine for 14 days after a senior official at a post-Cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office had tested positive for COVID-19.

During the quarantine period, the Prime Minister carried out his official duties from home.
