NOOR HISHAM: Currently, the percentage of R nought in Malaysia at 0.7 per cent was still under control.
The number of infectivity or R nought (R0) in the country could go up if the people did not comply with the directives even if the government implemented the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that currently, the percentage of R nought in Malaysia at 0.7 per cent was still under control.
"If our actions are effective, the R nought will decline, but if there is no social compliance with the SOP even if the Movement Control Order (MCO) is in force, R nought can increase.
"The same is true today and with the relaxation under the CMCO, if there is no compliance, then the R nought will increase. So, we have to look at the MCO and CMCO measures we have taken," he said at a press conference here Sunday.
In this regard, Dr Noor Hisham said the MOH was monitoring the percentage of R nought in the future.
On Saturday, he had informed that R nought in the country was 3.55 per cent before the implementation of MCO phase one to three.
