The charred remains of a man was found inside a burnt Proton Wira car at Batu 4, Jalan Klang-Meru, early Wednesday morning.

North Klang District police chief Supt Mohamad Shukor Sulong said police were informed of the incident by members of the public at 5.38am.

"When the fire and rescue department had doused the fire, the charred remains of a man was found inside the car. The body of the victim, believed to be in his 30s, was later sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) for post-mortem.

Mohd Shukor said initial investigations revealed that the car was registered to a man from Banting and that the victim was not the owner of the car.

"The victim is not the owner of the car but at the same time no stolen car reports have been received. So, we need to carry out a detailed investigation to find the identity of the victim and the reason for the fire," he said.

Police have classified the case as sudden death.
